Love
Letter to
Our
Families features
frank discussions with parents, siblings and extended family members of
South Asian lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgendered people. Poignant
testimonies speak to the experience of coming out and how our families
of origin transformed themselves to include queer children, and in the
process, are changing the broader South Asian community and forever redefining
and rewriting the traditional family. This documentary illuminates the
experiences of queer South Asians and is relevant to other diverse diasporic
communities. The video features the stories of six South Asian families
including that of celebrated author Shyam Selvadurai.
Theen - a
gay Indian man's relationship with his boyfriend is threatened by a visit
from the perfect Indian woman.
