In BEHSHARAM, we meet Jaspal and Sati, two sisters whose lives have been shattered by addiction, brutal family secrets and overwhelming traditional demands.  However, despite these obstacles, it is a story that chronicles their conviction and perseverance in maintaining their family and understanding each other.

SALAAM presents our Third Mondays monthly reading series which includes original and published pieces of work, to be read the third Monday evening of each month at the Asian American Writers' Workshop in Midtown Manhattan.  We are accepting one-act and full-length plays, screenplays, monologues, and any other works dealing with South Asian American themes.
