SALAAM 3rd Mondays
Geeta Citygirl, Artistic Director
presents

A Chat over Chaat:
What South Asians are doing in 2004 for the New York Theater scene.

Please join us for this month's special SALAAM 3rd Mondays where in addition to celebrating the upcoming Earth Day, we present a unique eventOur line-up of guests is still top-secret (*smile*) but we assure you this event will be open to discussion between the audience and the distinguished panel.  If you are new to the business and want to get involved, this is the event to attend.  We have invited folks to represent each of the various South Asian theatre groups in NYC which will allow everyone to get up to speed on current and upcoming projects.

At this month's salon, you will meet the many South Asian faces you hear about and get to network with a room of others in the NYC theatre scene. Actors, we encourage you to bring at least 5 copies of your headshot/resume to give to the various folks in producing and casting positions. Nancy Kim from the Non-Traditional Casting Project will join our event to collect headshot/resumes for both the NTCP files as well for the ABC Casting Project Talent Showcase.  SALAAM's Geeta Citygirl will be present along with SALAAM's new literary manager, Anuvab Pal.

Directors, playwrights, dancers, musicians, visual artists and filmmakers are also requested to bring any submissions for consideration in our remaing 2004 monthly salons.  Activists and their organizations are invited to bring materials and information about upcoming actions.  We encourage all of you to bring ideas, suggestions and thoughts to this event.  As always, your voluntary donation to SALAAM 3rd Mondays includes the event followed by our reception with wine and hors d'oeuvres.  In addition to the samosas and other goodies, this month we splurge and get some yummy Indian Chaat from Minar Indian Restaurant.  Bring your good energy and get involved!

You never know what special talents you'll meet so just mark your calendars and be part of this growing movement of artists and activists.  For an energizing and engaging event, make it SALAAM time -- it's every month on the 3rd Monday.

Traditional Q&A and reception with complimentary wine, soda and Indian appetizers to follow.
