SALAAM Theatre
invites you to this INCREDIBLE week of festivities..

Incredible India @ 60

This festival will give everyone a chance to enjoy a variety of Indian performances, fashion shows, fun stalls and more.  The admission-free festival will feature special guest Master of Ceremonies and SALAAM's own, Geeta Citygirl.

FOLK DANCE FORMS from all four corners of India including Bhangra, Garba, Yakshagana, Sufiana, Rangeela Bihu and MUCH more.  Raghav Raj Bhatt (seen below) will make a special appearance here in NY to help coordinate all the folk dances.

Bollywood, which used to be barred from India festivals of yore, also finds its well-deserved place here.  Legendary dancer/choreographer, SAROJ KHAN (seen below with SALAAMer Asha) will be visiting with her Bollywood Live dancers and Mumbai Masala featuring contemporary dances from Indian films.

Live musical fusions performances by PadmaShri Hariharan and Leslie Lewis, also known as COLONIAL COUSINS, World-renowed percussionist Anandan Sivamani (seen below), India's premiere Jazz Pianist Louis Banks, young Sitar Virtuoso Niladri Kumar, Goa's own Remo Fernandes and others.

Live classical Indian dance and music at all venues.

· Indian Cuisine with culinary demonstrations and food sampling plus other Indian booths will add to the festivities.

Join Geeta Citygirl for all the festivities at BRYANT PARK.  Wednesday, join her down at the South Street Seaport Pier 17 for the final day of performances.  New York's favorite stand-up comedians including Aladdin, Atul Singh, Vidur Kapur and Nikki Chawla will also make an appearance down at the South Street Seaport.

Citygirl will be at Madame Tussauds Wax Museum where she will introduce the film, GANDHI MY FATHER and moderate the discussion with filmmaker Feroz Abbas Khan (seen below) and producer/actor, Anil Kapoor.

And she will emcee the private invitation-only evening events including a gala dinner with a special live musical performance by the legendary sarod maestro, AMJAD ALI KHAN accompanied by his sons, Ayaan and Amaan at the New York Public Library as well as the Lincoln Center event.

The Incredible India@60 campaign -- http://www.indiaat60.in -- will treat New Yorkers to a unique visual spectacle encompassing cultural shows, conferences and food, as well as art and fashion extravaganzas.  Buses and billboards all over the city will announce the campaign.
