Akram Khan, a London favorite, teams up with the celebrated talents of award-winning sculptor Anish Kapoor (set design) and Nitin Sawhney (composer) to present his company's first full length evening work Kaash (Hindi word for "if").

For their debut at The Joyce Theater, the Akram Khan Company performs Kaash (Hindi for "if'), a 55-minute work combining contemporary dance and classic Indian Kathak danced by a five-strong international cast of performers.  Resonant with spiritual theatricality, the piece soars with Hindu gods, spins through black holes, slides into Indian time cycles, and suggests themes of creation and destruction.  Award-winning sculptor Anish Kapoor (set design) and Nitin Sawhney (composer) collaborate with Britain's hottest young choreographer to create this spellbinding work of haunting beauty. Kaash continues Akram Khan's quest to build bridges between the worlds of contemporary dance and the Indian classical dance form Kathak.
