Don't miss this unique opportunity to stand up for peace in your community by joining us to kick off Women's History Month with SALAAM Lysistrata. As one of the members of the Lysistrata Project, we join participants from a wide variety of backgrounds and views who all believe the Bush Administration's rush to war on Iraq is a bad idea. And we're taking tangible action by THINKING GLOBALLY, ACTING LOCALLY. http://www.lysistrataproject.com THAW (Theaters Against War) is a group of New York based theater artists alarmed by the threat of war on Iraq and the escalating attack on civil liberties at home. THAW seeks to encourage the growth of a pro-peace culture. On Sunday, March 2nd, 2003, THAW is asking each and every theater in New York to make a public statement opposing the war. Pro-peace statements will range from the all-out pro-peace performance events, teach-ins, peace parties and more. THAW is aiming to enlist hundreds of theaters and theater artists in all five boroughs to create a gesture - from subtle to grand - that promotes peace and defends our essential American freedoms. http://www.thawaction.org We must unite. Wherever you are, debate and discuss and speak out against injustices everywhere! *donations are encouraged but nobody will be turned away due to lack of funds. if you'd like to support by making a donation to help cover our expenses including copies of the script, programs, fliers and rehearsal spaces, please contact citygirl@salaamtheatre.org directly. Peace, Paz, Paix, Shanti, Shalom and SALAAM. -----------------------------------------
