BOMBAY DUCK
By Sharbari Ahmed

SYNOPSIS:  Set in WWII Calcutta, Bombay Duck tells the story of Yasmine Khan, a street wise young woman who opens a night club (think Casablanca) to serve the Allied troops stationed in the city before heading off to the jungles of Burma.  Part historical, part fiction the novel endeavors to capture a time and place where the extraordinary intersection of lives leads to love, loss and ultimately freedom.
