Born and bred in South East London, Nitin Sawhney has become a cultural icon. A gifted multi-instrumentalist, remixer, producer, and musical innovator, Sawhney has created a musical genre of his own and has won numerous awards in the process. In 2000 he was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize and received the South Bank Show Award for his album "Beyond Skin." 2001's "Prophesy" followed his journey to over 40 countries and garnered a BBC Radio 3 Boundary Crossing Award and a MOBO Award.

Sawhney is a latter-day Renaissance man, whose work includings scoring films, composing for world-class orchestras, and recording award-winning records. Sawhney's latest offering, Human, is out in the UK now and has already been hailed around the world as one of the most inspired albums of the decade.
