Satish has been playing on the NYC jazz-funk-fusion-jam
band scene for over 6 years. He plays a unique instrument called the Firebird,
a combination trumpet-trombone, which he uses to imitate traditional Indian
gamakas (bends, slides, shakes, and other ornaments). He leads the popular
NYC band Indofunk, which has 2 CDs out, and has numerous other recordings
to his credit. For more information, please see http://www.IndofunkCity.com
At Tunefulness, he performed a short rAgam-tAnam
(rubato improvisation) on a rAga he developed based on the Hindustani rAg
kAfi and was assisted by his trusty tamboura synthesizer and effects processor.
