Reflecting on the diverse colors under the rainbow
and celebrating GAY PRIDE...

Featuring theatre, dance, film, spoken word, music
& comedy including
A staged reading of Brenden Varma’s
one-act play, SAFE SPACE directed by Julio-Alexi Genao
with Coleman Bell, Reena Dutt, Jay Mandal, Nina
Mehta,
Suneel Mubayi, Amit A. Patel,
Atul Singh,
Brenden Varma. Taking place in a community center in present-day
Manhattan, this one-act satire takes you to meeting of a support group
for young gay South Asians.
BLACK/OUT, a screening of Dorothy
Griffin's latest short documentary. Black/Out is the first
part of a trilogy focusing on the everyday struggles of black queer youth.
CLOSER, an original piece written
and performed by Robert Abid & Tana Sarntinoranont about
being young and gay in NYC in the face of HIV/AIDS. Mixing the exclusive
worlds of in-your-face modern American homosexuality and subtle Asian tradition,
the piece unites both by the impending paradigm shift of the HIV/AIDS pandemic.
It's a small world after all.
